Group email: History of Art group
When: Monthly on Monday afternoons 14:15
3rd Monday of the month
Venue: St Mark's Church, Leamington Spa
Cost: £2.50 for room hire

We meet once a month on the third Monday of the month at 2pm for a 2.15 start. In order to allow for slightly longer room hire time we need to charge £2.50 to those attending.

We like to offer a range of talks on the history of art, supported by visual presentations on a large screen. This includes the work of specific artists, various art movements (such as the Renaissance or Impressionism) features on paintings, sculpture, murals, and various other media.
We are a self-supporting group, as required by the tenets of our u3a, and so talks are given by members of the group, other members of our u3a, friends of members and so on. Talks are no longer than one hour long (and can be shorter) followed by a group discussion and questions to the presenter. Please come and talk to us about your favourite artist or period of art. We give total support with the visual side of your presentation, including downloading images and putting them into a PowerPoint presentation.

Please contact either of us for more information.

Australian Art

We’ll look at how European artists tried and perhaps finally succeeded to capture the special quality of the Australian environment and how indigenous Australians had solved that problem millennia before.
