When: Monthly on Monday afternoons 14:00
Fourth Monday of each month

This group looks at ‘lived history’ and how aspects of society have changed during our lifetimes in the years after World War II. The focus is on evaluating these changes (for better or worse). We view Youtube videos taken from films made in the years 1950 onwards and supplement
discussion with personal memories and, perhaps, photographs etc. Some examples of useful videos are ‘Best History Docs’, ‘BBC Archives’, ‘British Time Capsule’. The subjects discussed could include the following:

Housing, Fashion and Style, Employment and Industry, The position of Women, Leisure Activities, Music, Holidays, Education and Schools, Transport, Towns and Cities, Technology, Consumer Goods, Food, Pensioners, Childhood, Poverty.

The group meets at 2pm on the 4th Monday of the month in Warwick Gates. Please email Sybil Gilbert for further details or text (rather than phone) 07588 154041).
